Nicholas Minniti (1931-2023)
Mr. Nicholas Minniti
A Renaissance Man for All Times
Nicholas Minniti, 92 in years, but eternally young at heart, joined the love of his life, wife Joan, on May 17th, 2023. He was surrounded by those who adored him, including his son, Robert and his wife, Mayra, and their son Gabriel; as well as daughter, Patricia, and her husband Robert. Yes. Robert was a key name for Nicholas, but if you met him, you’d know, he was not great at remembering names. Robert was also the name of his youngest and beloved brother who predeceased him by too many years. Nicholas also was predeceased by his other siblings: Nicholas (not a typo); Elenora; Joseph; Joseph’s twin (in infancy); Catherine; and Alfonso. Born in Glen Cove, NY in 1931 to Italian immigrants, he lived a rich life that brought him to Long Island, by way of Brooklyn and Philadelphia. His adventure concluded in Woburn, MA.
Nicholas was a man of science. His interest in how things work propelled him through trade school; service with the Marine Corp during the Korean War era; CUNY; Westinghouse; Pan Am; and a retirement from the Federal Aviation Administration. He married the redhead of his dreams in 1974 and adopted two children from Columbia. He was a consummate storyteller; a dancer; an artist; a baker; a traveler; a boxer; an avid learner; and a fantastic human. He will be missed by all who knew him. Gifts in his memory can be made at Lighthouse Guild.org
