My sincerest sympathies to the Doherty family. Rich and I met when we were kids in Melrose. I was over his house and he came to mine on E. Wyoming Ave. We had so much fun together then and when we reconnected on Facebook. I will remember him always and we will meet up again. God bless him……

My brother Richard was the glue that held our family together with his laughter his compassion and his love for everyone. I will remember forever his love of anything that had a remote control, made noise, sang a song or waved the flag . He will forever be missed.

So sorry, to all my Doherty cousins, to hear about Richard. I was so shocked to hear the bad news. Did not know he was sick. Still remember all the fun visits to your home in Melrose when Richard, John and I were kids. Lots of laughs with Richard around. Will keep praying for ALL of you!!

A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts and minds, through us, they live on.

I will remember him being so welcoming when I moved to Boston and sharing his love for the holidays and reunions. May he rest in peace.

I’d like to extend my most sincere condolences to the rest of the family. May fond memories of Richard bring you comfort.

My deepest sympathy to you in the loss of Richard. I fondly remember him from Youle Street and seeing him go by our house on the way to school and many a day playing outside and inside with the Dohery siblings.
