Sally Walsh


Sally (McDougall) Walsh, 80, of Somerville and formerly of Malden, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018 with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late John F. Walsh Sr. and mother of the late Donna Frey. Sally is survived by her loving children: Ann Marie Mclean of Medford, Linda Patz and her husband Scott of Newton, John and his wife Christine of Springvale ME, Sandy Kane and her husband Jim of Somerville, Karen Keating and her husband Keith of Wilmington, and Lisa Walsh of Sarasota Fl; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 brothers-in law, 4 sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews, cousins, many friends and her “grandchildren pets,” Trish and Jennie. Earlier in life, Sally was known to her neighborhood community by the nicknames “Olive Oil” & “Mustang Sally.” She walked every where, enjoyed public transportation and Sally was a member of the $1,000 club at Immaculate Conception Church for 40+ years. She loved her Pepsi and junk food, playing her numbers, bingo, cards (poker was her game) and the slot machines. A night owl and movie lover, Sally especially loved all Disney movies with Lady and the Tramp being her favorite. Sally will be missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

All are invited to Celebrate Sally’s Life on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 with a visiting hours from 9:00AM-11:00AM followed by a funeral service starting at 11:30AM at Boston Cremation, 287 Main Street, Malden, MA 02148.

The family is asking in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the MSPCA 350 S Huntington Ave, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130

    Sally ill never forget my late nights for yr growing up in ypur house playing with Lisa. You always made sure we had our snacks while playing. You were a very good friend of my mothers we grew like family and you share the same birthday as my Alexa you were always so happy to remind of that. You will be missed dearly. Say hello to my mom and dad up there.
