Victor Joseph Ferreira Jr. (1949 – 2024)

Victor Joseph Ferreira Jr., 75, passed away on the 3rd of November, 2024, following a brief illness. He entered this world on June 10, 1949, in Revere, Massachusetts, the son of the late Marilyn (Toomey) Ferreira and Victor J. Ferreira Sr. Preceding him in passing was his esteemed son, Victor J. Ferreira III.

A proud graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1968, Victor honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Upon completing his service, he embarked on a successful career as a printer, demonstrating remarkable expertise in his craft.

Victor will be remembered as a man of great kindness, humor, and generosity. His gentle spirit touched the lives of many. He shared a blessed union of 45 years with his devoted wife, Janet, who survives him. Their loving partnership yielded three children; daughters, Courtnie Miller and her husband Cory, Sarah Moran and her husband Chris, and their cherished late son Victor J Ferreira III. Victor’s role as a doting papa to Victoria, Shane, Effie, and Will brought him immense joy. He also leaves behind his cherished pets, cats Nacho and Lucy. His memory will be honored by his siblings Jackie Bissell and her husband Bud, Roxanne Olson and her husband Joe, and Keith Ferreira, along with a host of in-laws, nieces and nephews.

A man of varied interests, Victor found pleasure in camping, stamp collecting, cooking, sight seeing, collecting German Steins, browsing yard sales, watching Judge Judy, Bare Knuckle Fighting, War Movies and “creature features.” Most notably, his greatest joy was supporting his grandchildren at every sporting, dance, or school event, a testament to his steadfast love.

A service to celebrate the life of Victor Joseph Ferreira Jr. will be scheduled at a future date. His legacy of love and laughter will be held dear in the hearts of his family and friends in perpetuity.

Victor meant so much to my late husband, Joe, and to me. The four of us were dear friends and the ones left behind will always be dear friends. My heart goes out to you all, and I’m thankful that you have each other for comfort. I can almost smile when I think about Vic walking up to Joe in heaven and telling him some silly little joke with that goofy grin on his face
