Zinnia T. Lewis (Sheets)


Zinnia T. Lewis (Sheets) passed away at age 64 on May 3, 2024, in Boston, Massachusetts. She was born on June 20, 1959, in Boston, Massachusetts.

Zinnia was a phenomenal woman, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother! Zinnia dressed to impress. She was a free spirit known for her vibrant personality and selfless nature. She could be depended upon and always willing to help others. Zinnia will be remembered as the life of the party, an extraordinary cook, and a pillar of strength for her family and friends!

Zinnia attended North Shore Community College where she completed her high school education. Having worked since a teenager, Zinnia has had a diverse career history, holding various positions from administrative roles to a school para. She has worked at Dimock, Hillside Detention Center, Corcoran, Arrow International, and Burlington. At the time of her passing, she was employed at T. J. Maxx and the Oliver Perry School.

Zinnia was a woman of Christ, finding joy in worshiping and serving God at East Coast International Church and Bethel Tabernacle. In her free time, she enjoyed dancing, listening to music, shopping, cooking, decorating for holidays, painting, and most of all, spending quality time with her family. Zinnia was a strong, independent woman driven by hard work and determination! She was a helper, a provider, and a giver! Zinnia created connections with everyone she met.

Zinnia is survived by her daughter, Christine E. Sheets, her son, Damon R. Lewis, three grandchildren, Dontane A. Bryant, Imani S. Bryant, and Keilani E. Lewis, as well as three great-grandchildren, Dontane A. Bryant Jr., Dontay J. Bryant, and Adonis D. Bryant.

She also leaves behind two sisters, Rolanda Brown and Elaine Sheets, and a brother, Beverly Sheets. Zinnia was preceded in death by her parents, Frances E. (Roisten) and Beverly Sheets sisters Treva and Deborah Sheets, and Corrinna Rodriguez, and brothers Roland, Ernest, David, Paul, Joseph, Uriah, Gerald, and Wayne Sheets.

Zinnia Lewis touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by her family including cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and all who knew her.

Memorial service May 31, 10 am at East Coast International Church, 65 Munroe St., Lynn MA. Intermittent to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetary, 355 Walk Hill St., Mattapan MA.

I will always remember your smile and the words of encouragement you gave me in my darkest moments. Thank you for your words of encouragement when my dad was sick.
