First, my condolences to Vern’s family and other close friends and associates. Vern, and those with similar character and personality, were the catalysts of a once great Eastern Airlines. I consider it to have been my great fortune to associate and fly with Vern and other exceptional pilots who constituted our Eastern family.

May he rest in peace, until we meet again.
