Anna Raso

Anna Raso, 85 of North Andover formally of Dorchester, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Born in South Boston, she was the daughter of the late David and Agnes O’Connell and was one of four siblings. She was the proud graduate of Southie High School’s class of 1949.

She was the wife of the late James Raso. She leaves behind her son James, his girlfriend Jessica and her grandson Tyler James of Haverhill; and her daughter Margaret of North Andover.

Anna lived a simple but happy life. While living in Dorchester she enjoyed walking for coffee and chatting with whomever she met along the way and was a fixture at the Dorchester Day Parade.

She enjoyed her last years at Brightview in North Andover where she enjoyed sitting and talking in the library, making jewelry and crafts, playing bingo and listening to the piano. Most recently her greatest joy was spending time with Tyler.

No matter where she was you could always be sure she would have a smile on her face, a bag of Werther’s on hand and a stack of photos in her bag to show off.

There will be a funeral Mass at 12:00pm on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Church, 145 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. The family will be receiving relatives and friends from 10:30-11:45am at the Church Recreational Hall Saturday morning.
