Alfred Neuburger, age 78, of Bedford, formerly of Brookline, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014, after living with cancer for many years. Born in Germany, Al and his family fled Nazi persecution for Paraguay, later settling in New York. He attended Brooklyn Technical High School and graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with degrees in Electrical Engineering. Al worked in a number of firms, retiring from the MITRE Corporation after 40 years of service. He will especially be remembered for his love of running, hiking and the outdoors. Al is survived by his wife, Diane Bennett, of Bedford, MA; daughter, Rachel Neuburger, of New York, NY; and son, Jonathan Neuburger, of Harvard, MA.
