Allen Sweet of Wellesley, MA, formerly of Brookline MA, passed peacefully at the age of 87 on November 25, 2016 at Parmenter Hospice House in Wayland MA after a long and courageous battle with multiple cancers. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Betty Sweet, his son Bruce Sweet and wife Deborah Faragi Sweet of North Reading, MA, and their two children, Eric Sweet and his wife Katy of Dover, NH and Ariel Sweet of North Reading as well as his daughter Lynne Sweet and her husband Thomas Rezendes of Newton, MA.

Born in 1929, Al lived through an ever changing and evolving world. For most of his life, Allen brought color to the feet of women in Boston as proprietor of Ralph’s Shoes, and in his retirement, to the canvas with his pastel landscapes.

A celebration of his life and visiting hours will be held on Sunday December 4, 2016 from 1pm-4pm at the River Room, Waterstone, 27 Washington Street, Wellesley, MA. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Allen’s memory to the Beth Israel Deaconess Cancer Center, 148 Chestnut Street, Needham, MA 02492. Interment will be private.
