Andrea Erlandson Mackie
Andrea Erlandson Mackie, 55, passed away on June 28, 2022 after an abrupt battle with
pancreatic cancer. Born May 19, 1967 of Dorchester, Massachusetts, Andrea attended North Quincy High School and went on to earn a nursing degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Andrea found her calling as a Registered Nurse at the Suffolk County House of Correction. She treasured her role as a nurse and took pride in caring for absolutely everyone.
Always giving, forever selfless – Andrea was innately artistic, expressing her love through a
multitude of talents; creating intricate costumes, throwing extravagant parties; never lacking in imaginative thought. Her immense generosity poured through everyone she encountered. Every kid knew they could stay at Aunty Andi’s, and every friend knew they had a shoulder. Andrea had a heart the size of a hockey rink. She was hilarious, loquacious, over the top, and unrelenting. She endured, one day at a time, and never gave up. Andrea was the friend, the cousin, the aunt, the daughter, and the sister who provided unconditionally. She made one thing abundantly clear, above all else – she was Mom. A once in a lifetime woman gave us
something that will last forever, the greatest gift in life… beautiful, pure, complete love.
Andrea is survived by her mother Elsa Cook and younger sister Nicole Linville of Weymouth, and her sons John and Michael Mackie of Boston.
Andrea’s vivacious spirit is forever with us, as she reunites with her beloved father Roger Cook in eternal peace.

My heart is heavy though grateful for the way you impacted this world. If love and prayers could have saved you, you would have been with us forever! But as much as you were loved you, God loved you more. Rest in peace Andrea. To John, Michael and the family I’m so deeply sorry, Andrea was such a talented and amazing woman with a heart of gold! The light she brought into the world will always remain in the hearts of everyone she knew and loved most. She will never be forgotten and her legacy will live on. Losing someone so dear is devastating, and no words can ever really relieve that pain. I wish you courage and healing during these toughest of days. Cry when you feel like it. Let the laughter roll when it comes. And know that Andrea will forever live on in the journeys you shared together.
