Anthony J. “Sonny” “Tony” Paolillo (1940-2024)


Anthony J. (Sonny/Tony) Paolillo of Somerville, born and
raised in Cambridge, passed away peacefully at the age of 83,
surrounded by his loving family on March 3, 2024.  He was the
beloved son of the late Cecelia Paolillo of Cambridge.
 
Sonny leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Diana
(Duarte), his loving children, Joseph and his wife Denise of
Medford, Charlene and her husband Harold E. Vaughan III of
Somerville, Christopher of Somerville and Mark and his wife
Lori of Derry NH.
 
He was Umpa to his loving grandchildren, Carissa and her
husband Dana Barletta of North Andover, Tiffany and her
fiancé John Luongo, Nikolas and Zackary, all of Medford, Kylie
and Leah of Wilmington. Great Umpa to Viviana Barletta.
 
Sonny was the beloved brother of Rita of Revere, Leonard and
his husband Doug of Cranford NJ, Sergie and his wife Theresa
of Somerville.   Brother-in-law to the late Joseph Duarte and
the late Richard Duarte and his surviving wife Diane.
 
He also leaves behind many beloved cousins, nieces,
nephews, furbabies and friends.  He will always be
remembered as a loving husband, father, father-in-law, Umpa,
Great Umpa, uncle, cousin and friend with a loving caring
heart, a beautiful smile, and an infectious laugh. He will be
missed immensely.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, March 19, from 10
am to 12 pm at Boston Cremation, located at 287 Main Street,
Malden, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pancreatic Cancer
Action Network ( PanCAN ), Dementia Society of America or a
charity of your choice.

    We knew each other through stages of family growth and you were always the gentleman with same beginning East Cambridge where ledgends of our neighborhood included you. Rest in peace.

    Sonny,
    It is very sad to me that you are gone. My brother Phil passed away last August. All of us were always close growing up. I remember the days on Gore Street, the vacations in Billerica and the reunions at our house in Pepperell. Say hi to Phil when you pass thru the Pearly Gates!

    Sonny I will always have great memories of you, from the great cookouts in Billerica and the wild card games and that Friday night when you visited my parents in Somerville. You will be missed by all your family and friends, you were a great man.
