Barbara T. Cooney


Barbara T. Cooney, 82, of Cambridge, passed away on January 22, 2017.

She was the loved mother of David Cooney and his wife Karyn of Cambridge, Katherine Rezendes of Everett, and the late Thomas Cooney of Cambridge and the late John Cooney of Cambridge; loved mother-in-law of Judith Howley and Patricia Cooney; dear grandmother of seven grandchildren, great-grandmother of eleven; and dear sister of Carol Scalesse of Everett. She also leaves several nieces, nephews and friends.

Barbara was a waitress during her career, most recently at Greg’s Restaurant in Watertown, from which she retired. She loved politics, making difference in the community and was an advocate for the Cambridge Elder Services.

A service will be held Monday at 11am at Boston Cremation, 287 Main Street in Malden. Burial will follow at Cambridge Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to visit from 9:00 until the service at 11am.
