Bobby Deboris Maben (1941-2023)
Bobby Deboris Maben, 82, of Portsmouth Virginia, passed away on September 23, 2023, in Malden, Massachusetts. He was born on January 6, 1941, in Portsmouth Virginia. Bobby was a loving and caring husband and a devoted father. His grandchildren were his world. He enjoyed playing golf and watching various sports, with the Patriots and Red Sox being among his favorite teams. Bobby was known for his kind and friendly nature, and everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him seemed to love him.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Lisa Maben, his daughters Monica Maben, Keyetta Moody, LaKiesha Moody, and Juanita Moody, as well as his grandsons Jamaal Maben, Myles Maben, Keysun Wise, and Isaiah Smith, and his granddaughter Jazlyne Ruggiero. He also leaves behind a whole host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bobby was preceded in death by his mother Helen Doughite, his father Charlie Maben, and his daughter Sonia Benita Maben.
Bobby attended I.C. Norcom High School and later pursued higher education at Norfolk State University. He had a successful career as a shoe salesman for Clark’s Shoes and other shoe companies. Bobby’s passion for golf brought him joy and relaxation throughout his life.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May his soul rest in peace.
