Doreen Ann (Cody) St. Don

Doreen Ann (Cody) St. Don of Mansfield danced her way to heaven on May 10, 2022 at the age of 77 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by finding joy in every moment of life and telling her stories.

Doreen graduated from Bridgewater State University with a Master’s in Education. She was a lifelong advocate for children and taught in both Attleboro High School and Hope High School in Providence RI for a combined 47 years. She met her husband James (Jim The Mighty Oak) St. Don in 1969 and would have been married 50 years July 1.  Doreen  was the daughter of the late John and Charlotte (Greany) Cody. Beloved mother of Paul St. Don (Zora “Punkin”), Kristen Saint Don-Campbell (Charles “CJ” Campbell), and James (Jamie) St. Don Jr. as well as grandmother of Josiah Campbell, Brianna St. Don, Jackson St. Don, Oakley Campbell, and Holden Campbell. She is also survived by her loving sister Donna Lou Tripp, brother Dennis Cody (Joyce), best friend Nancy Astrom (Dick), countless and deeply loved nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Doreen was a creative force with enough kindness, love and compassion for all. She was an avid collector of all things beautiful and unique to include friends. She worried stores may close if she stopped shopping and found her way to many a yard sale, antique store and shopping plazas. She always had the right item for something unexpected at precisely the right time. Her stories were epic and filled with humor as well as wisdom. She loved watching the birds,  dipping her toes in the ocean, being surrounded by beauty and the people she loved.

Doreen has chosen not to have services at this time. In the future there will be a celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Doreen St.Don to support cancer research and patient www.dana-farber.org/gift. We ask you to hug someone you love and plant some daisies to remember her beautiful soul.

My deepest sympathy to Doreen’s family and friends. I used to work on weekends in her little shop “Nostalgia” in Mansfield. She was such a kind soul. She sure loved her “stuff” and had such an eye for amazing treasures….I enjoyed my time with her at that little place. God Bless
