Dorothy Francis “Dexter” Rossetti (Saul) (1940-2024)

Dorothy Francis “Dexter” Rossetti (Saul), 84, of Methuen, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2024, at Beth Israel Deaconess after a brief illness.

Dorothy, known to many as Dexter, or Dex, (Sissy to her family) was a very vibrant and strong presence in Methuen, where she was well-known and beloved by many. She was extremely kind, generous, and always willing to help those she cared about. She could often be found assisting her friends with rides, or picking something up from the store for them and never wanting any money. Dexter’s greatest joy in life was being a grandmother to her grandchildren, Kylie and Zachary. She cherished spending time with them, having sleepovers, taking them to parks, Chuck E. Cheese, the mall, and supporting them in all their activities.

Throughout her life, Dexter worked as a professional waitress, starting at a small deli shop in Malden Square called Bernie’s Deli, and later working at various restaurants including Valle’s Steakhouse, Saugus and Andover, The Hilltop, LeBiftheque, Valle’s-LeBiftheque, Chicland, and the Grill 93. She dedicated 18 years of her career to Bertucci’s in Salem, NH, where she only stopped working when they closed due to Covid.

In her free time, Dexter loved to shop and could often be found at Walmart and Market Basket in Salem, NH. She also enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows, The Voice, American Idol, and Dancing with the Stars and reading her “smut” magazines to keep up with the latest gossip among the stars.

Dexter is survived by her daughter, Kim Seymour, and her husband JayR Seymour of Bradford, her granddaughter Kylie of Beverly, her grandson Zachary of Truckee, CA, her sister Barbara Saul, of Revere, and her sister-in-law Josie Wixon of Revere. She is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Saul, and her brother John (Jack) Saul, her aunt Tamae Mullen of Revere, and her uncle William (Buddy) Mullen of Rancho Cordova, CA.

Dexter will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of her life that will be held at Boston Cremation Services, 287 Main St Malden, MA on Friday, April 26th at 10:00am.

Donations in her name can be made to MSPCA-Angell Attention: Donations 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130, or through the following link https://support.mspca.org/site/Donation2?df_id=20472&20472.donation=form1&_ga=2.220413720.181939683.1713548253-2060760495.1666968690) as she enjoyed visiting the Nevins Farm location in Methuen with her grandchildren.
