Eduardo Guzmán

Eduardo Guzmán of Chelsea, Massachusetts, surrounded by his family, passed away February 1, 2018 of natural causes. He was 78 years old. Born and raised in Costa Rica, Eduardo came to Chelsea as a young man 46 years ago. He’s a retired dry cleaning presser. Since retirement he has enjoyed spending time between Costa Rica and Massachusetts. He relished family, watching sports, music and dancing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bolivar and Rosa Guzmán and a sister, RoseMary Leiva. Survived by his three children; Alex, Didier (Jeannie) and Silvia Guzmán; and his former wife, Sonia De Guzmán. He was a beloved brother of 10 siblings; Julia, Lilian, Alicia, Virginia, Vilma, Carlos Luis, Rodolfo (Manuela Rodriguez), Ruth, Sara (Berto Rodriguez) and Xinia Guzmán. Eduardo also had 6 grandchildren; Chelsea Haderer (Nick), Raquel (Alan Blakeley), Noah, Sofia, Fallon and Jonah and two great-grandchildren; Nathanial and Liam Haderer. He is also survived by more than a 100 nieces and nephews.

Eduardo will be privately laid to rest with his parents and sister in San Jose, Costa Rica.
