Janis Carmen Popkin (Gentile), 69, of Nashua, NH passed away peacefully on December 8, 2023 in Car Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln,MA. She was born on February 12, 1954, in Somerville, MA.

Janis was a beloved wife to Charles Popkin and a devoted mother to her children, Kristina and Tracy Popkin. She is also survived by her sister, Dona Georgitis, and brother-in-law Stuart, sister-in-law Anne Gordon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

Janis had a fulfilling career as a Pre-School Teacher and Para Professional. She dedicated her life to nurturing young minds and making a positive impact on the lives of her students. Janis was a graduate of Pope John XXIII High School and continued her education at Salem State University where she obtained a BA in education. 

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Janis was a caring and compassionate individual who always put others before herself. She was deeply involved in advocacy and support for the Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Alliance.

In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed to support the organization, which provides care and assistance to individuals who share the diagnosis of her daughter, Kristina. Contributions can be made at www.tscalliance.org. 

Janis will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family and community will forever be remembered. 

The funeral will be a private ceremony with only close family present.
