Kate was a longtime member and Christian Education Director at Park Ave Congregational Church where she touched the lives of countless families for many years. She was active in Stand for Children and was also a dog handler with Caring Canines.

Kate grew up in Ridgewood New Jersey before eventually moving to Lexington, MA. She graduated from Lexington High School and continued her education at Wheaton College in Norton, MA. After graduation she moved to Arlington, where she remained committed to adding to the community. She worked tirelessly to pass overrides to help secure funding for the Arlington Public Schools.  She received her Master’s degree in Elementary Education with Special Needs Certification from Lesley University.  She adored working with children and fulfilled her lifelong dream to become a teacher at Bedford, MA Integrated Preschool. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Buddy Dog (https://www.buddydoghs.org/donate.) Nina came from Buddy Dog and was by Kate’s side throughout her illness. There will be a celebration of her life at a later date at Park Avenue Congregational Church.

Such a terrible loss and a beautiful light is now etched in the loving memories of those who’s lives she touched… May Rod and the boys find comfort in these memories as they grieve her passing…

Our unforgettable Kate. What a gift and an honor to be her friend these 40 years, through thick and thin. Rod, Andrew, Nick, Dee, Don, and all of your brilliant and boisterous family – this heart is grieving with you now, and holding her in loving memory forever.

It is not necessary to have known Kate to understand and marvel
at the numbers of fellow travelers who have been touched by her
life. Her Memory is full of energy and infuses our world with certainty
that Love and Joy are eternal truths. I share with her beloved family
and friends the comfort they are so in need of and the words,
    “Well Done Kate.”

While our hearts are broken, we need to remind ourselves how lucky we were to have been in the presence of an angel.
