Malik Scott (1992-2023)


Malik Scott, age 30, of Boston, Massachusetts, passed away suddenly on June 20, 2023, at his residence in Boston, MA. He was born on December 20, 1992, in Cambridge, Ma. Malik grew up in Cambridge, Boston and Cape Cod, MA Malik’s educational journey took him to primary school in Cape Cod, and his remaining school years in Boston, Ma.

Malik had a competitive nature and an outgoing spirit. He also had a passion for basketball and could always be found honing his skills on the court. In addition to basketball, he enjoyed spending time at the gym working out, and staying active.

He loved surrounding himself with family and friends, sharing stories, laughing, and having good times. A friend remarked that if you were Malik’s friend, he always looked out for you.

Malik held various jobs throughout his young life, working for UPS in Chelmsford, Ma, Boston/Logan International Airport and Integrated Resources, Inc. to name a few.

He will be remembered by his sisters and brothers, as a kind, loving and funny individual, who was sometimes gullible. Malik had a playful and mischievous side, often finding himself in trouble for his clowning around antics.

Malik was in the process of overcoming personal challenges and was looking forward to a bright future, when he was called home by Our Lord.

Malik leaves to treasure his memory; mother, Renee Scott (Anthony Rieves) of Everett, MA; his father, Leonard Jones of Boston, MA; his sisters; Tamara Scott (Kamal Charles) of Boston, MA; Quinanna Scott (Shaneia Monteiro) of Cape Cod, MA; Amariana Pickett of Boston, MA; his brothers; Jawan and Jecorey Rieves of Everett, MA, and sister Janel Rieves of Everett, MA; He also leaves to mourn his loss; his grandmother, Mrs. Francine Scott of Cape Cod, MA; his uncle, Anthony Scott (Judy) of Florida; his great uncles: Henry Ingram of Brockton, MA, Clay Ingram and Rodney Ingram of Stoughton, MA; his cousin, Ella Wenmei Scott of Florida; his nephew Larry and his niece Za’Neya of Boston, MA; as well as a host of cousins, extended family members, and his many friends.

Malik was preceded in death by: His great grandparents, Henry C. and Mary Ella (Williams) Ingram; Rev. Willie Sherman and Rosabell Scott; his grandfather; Willie Earl Scott; his great aunts, Olga Scott, Margaret Ingram, Evelyn Mary Smith; great aunt and uncle, Lydia Busby (Leon) and John C. Ingram (Grace); and his cousins, Ronald Gaston, Phillip Scott, Cydney Fields, Darren Busby, Stephen Ellis, Wasten Clark, Curtis Barnes, Eva Coakley and Linda Wilson.

Malik Scott – A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held at, Boston Cremation, located at 287 Main Street, Malden, MA 02148 (781) 322-0909 Friday, July 21, 2023. Fellowship with family from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., followed by the Memorial service from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. Repass to follow services.

Malik will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
