Mary Anne Donohue
Mary Anne Donohue died peacefully on June 22, 2015 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading, Massachusetts. Ms. Donohue was born on January 20, 1942 in New London, Connecticut. She attended local schools and graduated in 1963 from what was then Holy Ghost Hospital School of Practical Nursing. During her nursing career she worked at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, Yale New Haven Hospital, and continued in various positions at Lahey Clinic. First at Lahey’s original Boston location and then worked as a Managed Care Advisor and in Patient Referrals at Lahey’s Burlington and Peabody locations and retired in 2011. Her loving family, many dear friends, co-workers and patients remember Mary Anne as a kind and attentive professional. They will miss her empathy, loyal support, her loving advice and the pride she took in the big and little victories of everyone in her life. Ms. Donohue is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Sheila and Paul Welling of East Lyme, CT; her niece Andrea Kennedy of Needham, MA, and her husband Bradley Kennedy; her nephew Paul Welling, Jr. of London, England, and his wife Brenda Welling; her grand-nieces Anna Kennedy of Arlington, MA, and Nora Kennedy of Needham, MA. She also leaves many beloved cousins and godchildren who were very important in her life. Mary Anne was predeceased by her parents Robert and Margaret Donohue of New London, CT; and by her uncle Michael Duggan; her aunt Anna Takach and her husband Joseph; her uncle Daniel Donohue and his wife Muriel; her aunt Eileen Donohue; and her aunt Jane Grippo and her husband John. A funeral mass is scheduled for Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Church at 221 Concord St., Framingham, MA, and will be celebrated by Mary Anne’s good friend, the Reverend Francisco Anzoategui. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about Mary Anne. We were friends for 30 years and talked on a weekly basis. She was my son’s Godmother. Her passing has left a giant hole in my heart, but having had her in my life has given me 30 years of wonderful memories and endless smiles.
