Matthew C. Torti (1982-2023)

Matthew C. Torti, 40, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023.  He is survived by his amazing daughter and best friend Eudelia Torti; his soul mate Allison Helleberg; his mother Deborah Torti and her partner Byron Morris; his “Nana” Sue B. Calverley; his sisters: Victoria Torti and her spouse David Rohde; Virginia Torti and her partner John Marr, III; Carrie Chase and her husband Shawnn; his brothers: James Morris and Jerehmy Morris; his daughter’s mother Nicole Valverde; Eudelia’s grandparents: Judy and Alex Valverde; his father Marcus Torti and his wife Laura; his nephew: Avario Mucci; his friend Ethan Tetreault and his wife Brianna; along with so many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, especially Doug, and so many friends.

Matt was born in Dallas, TX before the family relocated to West Brookfield, MA where they were all raised on a beautiful farm surrounded by woods, fields and all the outdoor activities kids could want.  Matt graduated Quaboag Regional High School and grew up riding 4-wheelers, dirtbikes, motorcycles and operating any tractors and machinery that he could get his hands on.  The hardest of workers, he excelled in all the skilled trades working as an electrician and pouring concrete foundations.  He earned his Construction Supervisors License and owned and operated his own company remodeling homes.  Matt acquired all hoisting and truck licenses he could to learn all aspects of construction.  He most recently worked as an Assistant Project Manager for Thorndike Development.  His life really started when he became a father in 2009.

His daughter became the focal point of his life and everything he did he did for her.  Their bond turned into the most amazing friendship.  They played video games together, baked pies and made family dinners together, he would travel to watch her perform and compete in figure skating, he loved to play pranks on her and take her out to eat and out for ice cream anytime she wanted to.  Everyone who knew and loved Matt will miss him dearly.
All are invited to attend a Celebration of Matthew’s Life on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 11:00am-2:30pm at The Barn at Wright Farm, 420 Main Street, Sturbridge, MA 01566.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Eudelia Torti Trust via Venmo @EudeliaTorti
