Michelle Lee Hoffman

Michelle Lee Hoffman, (Shelly), age 44 of Stoneham, MA, passed away peacefully June 11, 2016 at the Kaplan House in Danvers, MA.

Born on March 23, 1972 in Worcester, MA, she was the youngest of two children to Dawn Powell Hoffman of Worcester, MA and Douglas & Ruth Hoffman of Stratford, CT. She spent her childhood and teen years in Stratford, Connecticut, and after traveling around a bit, she settled down in the Boston area of Massachusetts.

Michelle loved educating herself and was continually furthering her education whenever she could. Her life goal was to be as helpful as possible to people in need. She was very helpful to Paul Bekkenhuis her long time roommate, and through him she learned the art of refinishing hardwood floors.

She was extremely passionate about Harry Potter along with various types of music and movies. She was adventuresome, traveling and exploring many parts of the US over the years.

She loved rescuing cats and at one time had rescued 5 at the same time. She leaves behind two fur babies, Arwin and Lucky.

Besides her fur babies, she loved her nieces and nephews wholeheartedly. She enjoyed following their lives on their various social media sites and kept in touch with them often. She loved people deeply. She always wanted to be up to date on the events of the lives of those she loved and called friends or family. Michelle was generous with her spirit, her energy and her possessions. Many people in her life were the benefactors of her generosity and her love of people.

Michelle is survived by her mother, Dawn Powell Hoffman, and her father, Douglas Edward Hoffman. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Cherie & Martin Niatopsky and their children, Deirdre, Joseph, Alex, and Laura along with Mary & Adam & TJ Synott. She will be missed by many friends but specifically, Paul Bekkenhuis her longtime roommate and close friend, and her other ‘sister’, Lisa Lanette Leeper Lovelady (Wolf). She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is predeceased by her mother, Ruth V. Hoffman who passed July 2006. Her grandparents on all sides of her family have gone on before her.

It grieves me to think that I will never talk to or see her again. It’s true when they say tell all who you love today because tomorrow may not be here for us….I will miss her and she will forever me in my heart. I don’t cry for her for she is in heaven, I cry for “us” for she will be missed. Until we meet again Shelly!
    She is with God
Peace to You Shelly at long last….
