Patricia “Patie” Ann Dineen (1956-2023)

Patricia Ann Dineen, known affectionately as either Patie or Ma, was a loving mother, sister,
grandmother, and friend. She passed away after a hard, but graceful battle with cancer on July
13, 2023, at the age of 67. Patie’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of her children: Jonathan
Burke, Damian Dineen, Bernadette Dineen, and Phillip Dineen. She will also be dearly missed
by her five grandchildren, as well as her sister Marie Pace. Her absence will be keenly felt by
her children’s spouses, close friends, and all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her
son, Jason Burke.

Patie was an unrelentingly optimistic and kind soul. Her unwavering generosity knew no
bounds, as she wholeheartedly offered everything she had to anyone who needed it. Even in
the face of life’s challenges, she never let adversity wear her down. Where others might have
lost hope, Patie lived in the silver lining. Her love for her children and animals was fierce, and
she was equally cherished in return. Her warmth was felt with the neighborhood children too, as
many more than just her own grew up calling her “Ma.”

Patie’s altruistic spirit and dedication to serving others extended beyond her home circle, as she
often gave food freely to her community without expecting or receiving payment. Many might
remember her café, “Daisy Dots”, with its tasty homemade soups and pastries in Palmer, MA,
where she touched the lives of all who patroned. Later, in her educational pursuits, Patie
obtained an Associates degree in Nutrition from Springfield Technical Community College. She
was very proud of her return to college and achieved degree

Beyond her professional life, Patie had a multitude of hobbies that brought her joy and
fulfillment. She enjoyed hiking, writing, painting, walking her dog Boo, and cooking. Her creative
spirit was evident in her passion for home making and her adoration for animals. On her farm in
Bondsville, which came about because she’d never refuse an animal in need, she garnered an
Ark of furry and feathered friends. Between goats, peacocks, a llama, rabbits, pigs, and
more- Patie loved them all. She really loved us all.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on August 15th, 2023, from 2:00 pm to
4:00 pm, followed by a memorial service to begin at 4:00 pm. The services will be held at Beers
& Story Funeral Home, located at 1475 N Main St, Palmer, MA 01069.

Patie’s indomitable spirit and unwavering kindness will be dearly missed by all who had the
privilege of knowing her. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to those she
leaves behind.
