Richard L. Cecchinelli
Richard L. Cecchinelli, 68, of Saugus, passed away comfortably on July 26 after a courageous 15 year battle with cancer. Devoted to his family, career and the game of golf, Richard was a caring, honorable man with a love for life.
Richard loved music and his first passion was playing the drums in his band. He then became a successful barber for more than 30 years. His favorite pastime was golfing with his friends and family. He loved his cars, painting, wine, Italian food and especially the ocean at York Harbor Beach where he and his wife were married.
Born July 17, 1949, in Winthrop, MA, Richard was the beloved husband of 16 years to Linda Cecchinelli. Devoted father of Taylor Cecchinelli and Keith Cecchinelli. Stepfather to Billy DeFreitas and Rachelle McBride. Father-in-law to Eric McBride and loving Papa C to Dylan McBride. Son of Louise and Tullio Cecchinelli of Saugus. Brother to Steven Cecchinelli, Jack Cecchinelli and Elaine Cecchinelli. Godson to Barbara Casale. He was also survived by his niece Gia Cecchinelli and nephew Alex Cecchinelli as well as many cousins.
A memorial service will be held for immediate family at Boston Cremation, 287 Main Street in Malden. A celebration of life party for all to attend will take place at a later date. Details on both to follow…
A special thanks to all of Richard’s Doctors and Nurses at Hallmark Health and the staff at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Richard’s honor to the Kaplan Family Hospice House. https://give.caredimensions.org/

I’m so sorry for your loss. Sending love, hugs, and prayers your way.
I am so sorry to hear of your great loss. Recently I lost my dear mother, and found great comfort in the Holy Bible, like at
Isaiah 25 verse 8 – “The Sovereign Lord will swallow up death
forever, and wipe away the tears from all faces.” Also at
Revelation 21 verse 4, we find God’s promise to remove both
pain and death. For more comfort, I turn to the website at:

My dear cousin Richard, I mourn our family’s loss. I will miss your smile and kind, loving spirit. As the eldest cousin of 17 you set a standard of love and compassion. You lived a beautiful life and touched all those around you. Though there have been many miles between us and sometimes years between visits, I always felt your strong love and strength when we were together. You battled all that life gave you with a quiet and personal peace that never burdened others. Much like my wonderful Father, Charlie. May Jesus take you into his arms and may all the grace of heaven be upon you. Rest in peace. Love and sympathy to Auntie Louise, Uncle Chic, Steven, Jackie, Elaine, Linda, Taylor & Keith.
My sincere condolence May Richard rest in peace may God bless his family
Thinking of all of you; and may the peace of God that surpasses all of our understanding be with you, comfort you, and strengthen you today, and each day.
Richard, this one’s for you.
“In my Life’
There are places I remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
with lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I’ve loved them all
Though I know I’ll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I’ll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

Rest in peace cousin
