Rosetta Shine, age 93, passed away peacefully on January 19th, 2023.

Rosetta was born in Greensville, Mississippi on June 11, 1929, to Elvin and Mary Shorty. She married Cornelius Shine in June of 1946, who preceded her death in 1982.

Rosetta worked as a seamstress in downtown Boston. She devoted her life to her family and neighbors. Rosetta loved everyone, she would sew for the neighborhood and do everyone’s hair. Everyone knew and loved Mrs. Shine.

Rosetta is survived by her sister Betty Collins and brother William Shorty: sons, O.J. Lansana (deceased), Cornelius Jr. (deceased), Melvin and his wife Pamela: daughters, Gloria Clifton and her husband David, Darlean Bell and her husband Tyrone. Rose’s beloved granddaughter Dawnikka, her grandsons Xavier, Melvin Jr., Joshua, Michael, Isaiah, and Solomon. Rose is also survived by several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews whom she loved deeply.
