Stanley Cobb Reynolds


Coast Guard Captain, Chief Engineer, Loving Devoted Husband and Family Man…10/17/1929 – 12/19/2020

Born in MA, Stanley Cobb Reynolds graduated from Newtonville high school where he excelled on the chess, polo, soccer teams. Throughout his youth he enjoyed spending his summers in Yarmouth,Cape Cod with family and cousin, Ted Affleck enjoying competition sailing regatta’s. At the age of 13, Stanley attended the Coast Guard Sailing Academy, successfully graduating and finding his calling that would soon define his career and adventures for the rest of his life. He met the love of his life, Regina Kempton at the she of 19 Their 68-year marriage together was the epitome of eternal love.

Stanley was an honorable man gifted with many talents. He was an artisan model shipbuilder with pieces at MIT and The Library of Congress. He influenced so many lives with his quiet, pragmatic and intellectual outlook in life. His centered attitude helped him shine as a philosopher, musician, adventurist, protector and provider. Stanley, holds a masters in engineering from MIT.

When Stanley returned from his worldwide trips abroad to their Duxbury home, he designed and built for the children several activities areas on the property such as a tetherball court, archery range, and target rifle range to keep the children busy and at home. To accommodate a growing family Stanley also invested and renovated several large homes throughout the years to provide for the growing family. One of Stanley’s motto was that it was important to stay focused for a healthy mind and body in work and play. Another was “All that is…Is” will always keep you calm!

Stanley, as Coast Guard Captain and Chief Engineer, was the engineer in charge of the construction of the Antarctica and New Zealand Murdoch Stations projects amongst other projects in Argentina, Chile, the Panama Canal and Hawaii. His travels afforded him countless exciting adventures in many other countries, yet his heart was at home with his living wife and children.

Stanley loved classical music, playing piano, reading poetry and history, journaling, drawing and building ship models. Dad and GrandPapa. Stanley’s Legacy will live on through the amazing lives of his children: Scotty, Pamela, Linda, Lorna, Michael, Larry, Kathy, Kerri, Colleen, Marga, Matthew, and Sean. with their many loving spouses and children, Brandon, Monique, Danielle, Gabrielle, Scotty, Ashley, Desiree, Nicholas, Jessica, Jamie, Julie, Christopher, Heather, James, Courtney, Kelsie, Kyle, Daniel, Kathryn, Elliana, Brayden and…Great Grand Children, Austin, Tatetum, Chase, Nathan, Brianna, Shaelyn, Jameson, Wally, Charlie, Logan, Luca, Mila, Tobias, Victoria, Evelyn, Zoey, Corrine, Sam.
