Thomas Mullen (1940-2023)
Thomas (Tom) E. Mullen, formerly of Dedham, MA, recently residing in North Andover, MA passed away Saturday, April 15.
Tom is survived by his wife of 44 years Barbara (Norris) Mullen, three daughters Heidi Bryan, Joy Mullen and Christina Vitale. He also leaves behind his sons in law, Michael Bryan and Jason Vitale and six loving grandchildren, Shane and Luke Bryan, Collin and Ayla Vitale and Seth and Caidence Mullen. He was preceded in death by his son, Sean Mullen.
Tom was born and raised in Cambridge, MA by his parents Francis and Margaret (Brown) Mullen, who emigrated from Ireland. He was the youngest of five children (Francis, Peggy, Mike and Marie). He served in the Marines and he attended Boston College. He was an avid Boston sports fan, especially his beloved New England Patriots. He was proud to share that he was a season ticket holder dating back to when the Patriots played at Fenway Park. While in the Marines he fell in love with the islands of the Caribbean, and he worked hard to treat his family to many tropical vacations. For a few years, he and Barbara fulfilled their dream by moving to St. Croix upon his retirement from MIT where he had worked for over forty years. A private celebration of his life is planned for a later date.
“May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.”
