Tom, such a sweet, dear “brother in Christ” with a servant’s heart, who was a joy to see weekly at our church. I prayed fervently for his healing. That prayer was answered because he is now pain free and enjoying his *inheritance in heaven that can never perish, spoil or fade because his hope was in Jesus Christ who rose from the dead. I will dearly miss him and continue to pray for his precious wife, Gail, daughter, Tiffany, sons Joe and Mitch, grandchildren and family. *1 Peter 1:3-5

Tom was a sweet, kind, strong, loyal, adventurous, and humble man of God. He modeled a quiet depth of determination, perseverance, and bedrock faith. He was the kind of man that became the anchor to others. He held the ship in place because he was rooted to Christ. Some people witness by their very presence. Tom was like that. He brought the salt and the light with him wherever he went. He could be sitting quietly by his wife’s side in church and that somehow made the world feel right. He modeled friendship in marriage and abiding love. He clearly adored his children and grandchildren and was devoted to them. When I asked for his prayers I knew he would intercede on my behalf; I felt covered. I am grateful to have known him. When I played violin and looked out from the altar sometimes and saw him listening to the worship it was an inexplicable comfort to me. Perhaps this is due to his fatherly presence and heart for God. I also took note that he used his retirement years to travel to Ireland and share that adventure with close friends. He influenced me to see all of life as an open door and an endless possibility. I will always remember him dearly and learn from his example–to live, to love, to hope, to endure, and most of all to leave a shining legacy. Scott and I send our love and prayers to his family.
