Wesley B. Prevost, Sr.
Wesley B. Prevost Sr., 61, peacefully passed away at home on September 20, 2021 surrounded by his family after a year and a half battle with cancer.
Wesley was born in Gloucester, MA on October 10, 1959 to the late Wesley A. and Anne “Frontiero” Prevost. At a young age he met the love of his life Kathy. They were together for 46 years, married for 39 with 3 sons and 4 grandsons. He graduated from Suffolk University and New England School of Law, earning his Doctorate. He was a practicing attorney on the North Shore up until his illness. He was always willing to help people whenever they needed it and never expected anything in return. Wesley had a love for sports, especially boxing and hockey. He passed his love of sports down to his sons as he always spent his time coaching and attending their events. Great memories were made as softball, golf and bowling became traditions together, as his sons became adults. That love of sports, combined with a desire to help the youth of Gloucester, spilled over into the Gloucester Boxing Club, where he was one of the founding members. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge and passion of the sport of boxing by coaching and mentoring those who attended the club. He loved spending time at the club with some of his best friends sharing laughs and making great memories. If Wesley could not be found at home spending time with his wife you could find him at a hockey rink, baseball field or soccer field cheering on and playing with his grandsons who he adored.
He is survived by His wife Kathy “Palazola” Prevost, his in-laws Anthony “Ollie” and Maryann “Aiello” Palazola, his three sons Wesley B. Prevost Jr. Husband of Rebecca “Crowley” Prevost, Stephen Prevost, long time boyfriend of Rachel O’Neil, Kyle Prevost and his 4 grandsons Wesley James, Tyler, Jake and Kai Prevost, as well as the family dog Rebel, Wesley’s little buddy. He also leaves behind many close family and friends including his sister Josephine Brien, his brother George Hardy and sister in-laws Liz Moog, Annette Marston and Paula Horgan. Wesley was predeceased by his parents, his brother Richard Hardy and brother in-laws Ken Horgan and Peter Marston.
He will truly be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
A Mass will be held in the honor of Wesley at Saint Ann Church in Gloucester, MA on Saturday October 9, 2021 at 10am. All who wish to join in the remembrance of Wesley are welcome to attend.
